tech4wellbeing (former TecVis LP) was initially founded as a UK-based limited partnership by Dana Pavel and Dirk Trossen in January 2013 and it’s currently led by Dana Pavel. tech4wellbeing specialises in creating context-aware solutions for recording, processing, visualizing and sharing user information related to many lifestyle aspects. We also offer consulting services and customized software development based on our extensive experience with designing, building and testing context-aware systems.

Dana is the main contributor to the Storica software, which focuses on processing and visualising information recorded through the AIRS platform. Dana has been working in the area of context-aware computing for 14 years, her work spanning multiple areas such as sensing and context-aware platforms, context modelling and processing, software agents, adaptive software and interfaces. Dana worked for 8 years as part of Nokia Research Center in Boston and Helsinki, where she created and lead various research projects. During this time, she also created or contributed to various collaborations with world-class universities such as Georgia Tech, Columbia and MIT. More recently, Dana has been part of the TSB/EPSRC-funded PAL project, designing and developing MyRoR, a lifestyle management system centred around a story-driven information organization and presentation framework aimed at supporting users’ self-awareness and self-understanding. Dana has a PhD in Computer Science from University of Essex, UK and a MSc in Computer Science from University of New Hampshire, USA. She worked with the Judge Business School at Cambridge University and also held a visiting researcher position at the Computer Lab. Dana has multiple research publications and patents in areas related to context-aware computing.
